Congratulations to BTG’s 2022 spring intern, Ally Townsend!

Ally graduated summa cum laude from Towson University with a 3.983 cumulative GPA. She earned her B.S in psychology with a minor in business administration. She was also a member of TU’s Division I Volleyball team, winning the CAA Championships three years in a row.

Ally will be furthering both her education and athletic career at Springfield College in Massachusetts where she plans to study Athletic Counseling with hopes to become a licensed CMPC and mental health counselor.

I have always had a passion for athletics and have a desire to help athletes recognize the psychological and mental aspects of sport in order for them to improve their performance as well as learn to take care of their mental health and well-being. It is my goal to help end the stigma around mental health and provide support to as many athletes as I can, while simultaneously improving individual and team performance.

Congratulations to BTG’s 2022 senior intern, Jaclyn Marszal!

Jaclyn graduated cum laude from Glenelg Country School with a cumulative GPA of 4.78 during her senior year and received the Moxley Scholar-Athlete Award. As a part of the Glenelg Country School girl's lacrosse team, she earned IAAM A All-Conference Honors and helped her team earn the No. 3 ranking in the country to end the season.

She plans to major in psychology as she will attend the University of Notre Dame this fall and will also be a member of the women's lacrosse team. She hopes to one day attend graduate school and eventually work in the sport psychology or mental health counseling field.

I have an incredibly strong passion for destigmatizing the topic of mental health in athletics as this is an area that is too often overlooked in the sports world. I hope that one day I can help athletes like me overcome any mental health struggles that they may encounter so that they can perform their best physically and mentally and improve their overall well-being.
